Strait of Hormuz could reopen soon, Trump says

US President Donald Trump said that all Middle East straits closed following the war with Iran will soon reopen. According to him, this could happen either after negotiations or after a strike, according to his interview with Fox News.
According to Trump, the United States had been preparing the most powerful attack on Iran, but Tehran allegedly approached Washington with a request for negotiations.
"The Strait is going to be open very soon, or they're (Iran - ed.) going to be hit very hard, and then the Strait is going to be open. We were going to launch a tremendous attack — the biggest since World War II. And they called me and said very politely, 'Please, can we talk? Can we talk?' They didn't want that. And I said, 'Yes, we can talk. Let's get it done. Finally, let's get it done,'" Trump said.
In this context, the White House chief once again repeated his claim that Iran would not have nuclear weapons. According to Trump, Tehran will not be able to obtain them, and this will be formalized officially.
"Well, if they back out again, they are going to get hit really hard. They know that. They understand that. I have no choice. They cannot have a nuclear weapon. It's very simple," the US president stressed.
