On Monday, May 25, the Ukrainian Air Force used air-launched Storm Shadow cruise missiles to strike a Russian command post and communications hub in the temporarily occupied territory of the Luhansk region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Strike on the command post

The target of the attack was an important enemy command and communications center that coordinated Russian operations in this sector of the front. According to the Ukrainian military, the facility was successfully hit.

Significance of the operation

Ukrainian command officials stressed that such actions demonstrate a systematic approach to operational planning and the ability to strike critically important elements of the enemy’s military infrastructure.

It was noted that such strikes are aimed at reducing the command and control capabilities of Russian forces in temporarily occupied territories and complicating the coordination of their operations.

The use of long-range strike weapons such as Storm Shadow is viewed as part of a broader strategy designed to weaken the enemy’s command capabilities far from the front line.

Military officials emphasized that none of the Russian army’s facilities on Ukrainian territory can be considered completely protected.

At the beginning of June, Russia plans to introduce large-scale restrictions on the use of airspace over Moscow for civilian aviation. The restrictions will affect flights at altitudes of up to 5,100 meters.

During the night of May 25, Ukraine’s Defense Forces attacked several military and logistics facilities on Russian territory. One of the targets was the Belets oil depot in Russia’s Bryansk region.
