Stop eating this and forget abour high blood pressure
Hypertension is a fairly common disease that doctors refer to as the "silent killer." However, not everyone knows what to do to prevent high blood pressure and that your food can help fight hypertension, according to Mirror.
Blood pressure and your favorite food
Recently, scientists conducted research and found that common salt affects blood pressure. Of course, you don't need to completely give it up. But if you stop adding too much salt to your food, your condition may improve.
Experts say that to combat high blood pressure, it is worth stopping excessive salting of dishes. And if the daily norm of salt is approximately 2,300 milligrams (one teaspoon), reducing it to 1,500 milligrams can significantly affect the body.
"This is the first study to show that people who are already on blood pressure medication can lower their blood pressure even more by limiting sodium. And regardless of medication, we found 70% to 75% of people are likely to see a reduction in their blood pressure if they lower the sodium in their diet," said a doctor.
Of course, this does not mean that you should give up medication if you limit salt intake. In fact, experts noted that this study only demonstrates how we can help our bodies fight hypertension.
What is hypertension?
Hypertension is a condition in which blood pressure in the arteries is usually higher than the normal range. It can be the result of various factors, such as genetics, an unhealthy lifestyle, excessive salt consumption, lack of physical activity, obesity, stress, and certain conditions, such as chronic kidney disease or endocrine disorders.
Uncontrolled high blood pressure can lead to serious complications, such as cardiovascular diseases, stroke, kidney problems, and more. The treatment of hypertension usually involves lifestyle changes (such as proper nutrition and physical activity) and the use of medications if necessary.
Sometimes, a combination of medications may be recommended to control blood pressure. Any treatment should be supervised by a doctor.
