Step toward ending war: Trump's office makes new statement on minerals deal

The economic cooperation agreement signed yesterday, April 30, by Kyiv and Washington is an important step toward ending the full-scale war in Ukraine, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio reports.
"Thanks to President Donald Trump's leadership, today the US and Ukraine signed the Reconstruction Investment Fund Agreement - a milestone in our shared prosperity and an important step in ending this war," Rubio stated.
Minerals deal
Back in February of this year, Ukraine and the US were planning to sign a cooperation agreement in the field of rare earth minerals. However, that did not happen following a dispute between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, US Vice President JD Vance, and Donald Trump at the White House. The parties later continued refining the draft agreement.
At the end of April, Zelenskyy said the new agreement with the United States had become stronger and more equal.
The signing took place yesterday, April 30, during a visit by Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko to Washington.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump has already made his first statement regarding the agreement.
