St. Nicholas Cathedral in Kyiv damaged amid Russian missile attack
As a result of a Russian missile attack in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, the St. Nicholas Cathedral was damaged. Windows in the historic building were smashed and stained glass windows shattered.
St. Nicholas Cathedral is located in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, which suffered the most from today's Russian rocket attack. The building opposite the cathedral, the Toronto Business Center, sustained more damage due to the falling debris.
However, the blast wave damaged the facade of stained glass windows on the St. Nicholas Cathedral, an architectural monument of national importance. The photo was taken by the Ukrainian International Institute for Reconstruction.

St. Nicholas Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral. Built in 1899-1909 by Ukrainian and Polish architect Vladyslav Horodetskyi, it is the only neo-Gothic building in Kyiv.
In September 2021, the whole world started talking about St. Nicholas Cathedral. A fire broke out in the building. This emergency became one of the main topics in the media. Unlike Notre Dame, with which the Kyiv church was often compared in those days, the building (except for the roof) was almost completely intact. But its unique organ was completely burned down. In the days after the fire, Ukrainian companies raised a total of about UAH 25 million to restore the church.
