Russian missile strike on Kyiv: Aftermath of attack
In Kyiv, a Russian missile attack this morning, December 20, resulted in fallen debris in several districts, as well as casualties and fires, Kyiv's mayor Vitalii Klitschko and the Kyiv City Military Administration report.
The Russians launched a combined missile strike on Kyiv at around 7:00 a.m. According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, the enemy likely used Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles from MiG-31K aircraft and Iskander/KN-23 ballistic missiles.
According to the latest data from local authorities, fragments of aerial targets fell in three city districts, including the Holosiivskyi, Solomianskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts.

According to the latest data, a total of 7 people were injured in the attack in Kyiv.

An office building, road surface, and gas pipeline were damaged here, leading to a subsequent depressurization. In addition, five cars caught fire. According to Klitschko, the heating pipeline was also affected.
At another location, the façade of an office building was damaged, resulting in a fire on the roof and destruction on the fifteenth floor, where people may potentially be trapped.
Two residents have been reported injured in this district. One received medical assistance on-site, while the other was hospitalized.
Due to the heating pipeline damage in the Holosiivskyi district, 630 residential buildings, 16 medical facilities, 17 schools, and 13 kindergartens are currently without heat.
The Kyivteploenergo (the supplier of heat and hot water to the consumers in Kyiv - ed.) brigades have already begun working to eliminate the consequences of the extensive damage.
Dniprovskyi district
The information about debris falling in the Dniprovskyi district was not confirmed after verification, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration.
Solomianskyi district
Debris caused a fire in a non-residential building. The fire has been extinguished, and no casualties have been reported.
Shevchenkivskyi district
Klitschko reported a fire in this district.
As clarified by the Kyiv City Military Administration, the fire occurred in a non-residential area.
Missile strike on Kyiv
This morning, an air raid alert was declared across Ukraine due to the missile threat, including the launch of a MiG-31K in Russia.
Later, reports informed about a missile attack on Kyiv, accompanied by a series of explosions in the capital.
The air raid alerts were issued twice during the night in Kyiv due to a drone attack. Subsequently, debris from a downed enemy UAV fell in the Desnianskyi district. The city authorities also stated that air defense forces intercepted all Russian drones threatening Kyiv.
