Special Operations Forces repel assault by DPRK soldiers in Kursk region: Casualties reported
The Special Operations Forces (SOF) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not allow North Korean troops to advance in the Kursk region. 12 North Korean soldiers were eliminated, according to the SOF of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
As noted by the Special Operations Forces, the assault by North Korean soldiers on one of the positions of the Defense Forces in the Kursk region was repelled by soldiers from the 73rd Marine Center of the SOF of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
During the defense, Ukrainian defenders attacked the North Koreans using the MK-19 automatic grenade launcher. The Special Operations Forces also conducted drone drops.
"As a result, SOF operators destroyed 12 North Korean soldiers and wounded another 20," the Special Operations Forces clarified.
Additionally, Ukrainian soldiers provided first aid to an infantryman from a friendly unit. The soldier was evacuated from the battlefield.
Battles in the Kursk region
Recently, Russia has been frequently deploying North Korean soldiers in battles against Ukrainian defenders in the Kursk region.
According to Defense Intelligence, before an assault, North Korean troops accumulate 20-30 soldiers at the front positions. Typically, small groups of up to six soldiers are sent to attack.
At the same time, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andrii Kovalenko, stated that North Korean losses in the war had already exceeded 200 soldiers.
