Special Operations Forces (SSO) thwarted an enemy reconnaissance group’s attempted breakthrough. One soldier was taken prisoner.

Operators of the 6th Ranger Regiment of the Special Operations Forces successfully carried out an ambush on the enemy near the state border with Russia.

In the Northeastern Slobozhanskyi direction, Ukrainian special forces detected and neutralized an enemy reconnaissance group attempting to infiltrate Ukrainian territory.

All enemy combatants were eliminated during the battle, except for one Russian serviceman who was taken prisoner. The captured soldier has already expressed gratitude to the Ukrainian troops for sparing his life.

This successful raid by the SSO once again confirms the high level of professionalism and effectiveness of Ukrainian special forces in defending the country’s borders.

Special operations by the Ukrainian SSO on the front line

Ukrainian special forces regularly carry out special operations on the front lines in Ukraine, often operating deep behind enemy lines.

For instance, in April, fighters from the 6th Ranger Regiment of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces conducted a successful raid on enemy positions in one of the operational directions. They managed to expand the prisoner exchange pool.

And in March, SSO fighters captured nine Russian soldiers near Pokrovsk following a successful operation that involved blowing up an industrial building where the Russian troops were hiding. The special forces provided medical assistance to the wounded prisoners.
