Spain's triumph: FIFA names best players of 2026 World Cup

FIFA has officially announced the winners of the tournament's top individual awards following the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Spain's stars, fresh off their victory over Argentina in the final, also dominated the individual honors, according to FIFA's official website.
The most prestigious individual award, the Golden Ball for the best player of the 2026 World Cup, went to Spain captain Rodri. The midfielder was the driving force behind Luis de la Fuente's side throughout the tournament.
Rodri delivered remarkable consistency, controlled the tempo in midfield, and stepped up as the team's leader in the biggest moments. But he was far from the only Spanish player to receive individual recognition.
Historic records for Spain's defense and goalkeeper
Spain also claimed the awards recognizing defensive excellence.
Goalkeeper Unai Simón won the Golden Glove after setting a new all-time World Cup record with seven clean sheets in a single tournament. He also recorded the longest shutout streak in World Cup history.
The Best Young Player award went to 19-year-old center-back Pau Cubarsí, who produced performances far beyond his years and emerged as the leader of Spain's defense. Thanks largely to his contributions, Spain set another World Cup record by conceding just one goal throughout the tournament.
Overall, Spain's players claimed three of FIFA's four major individual awards. Meanwhile, the Netherlands received the FIFA Fair Play Award.
