At Paris Fashion Week, Saint Laurent unveiled its women’s Spring-Summer 2027 collection, with gold serving as the central theme. Standout details included footwear: sandals adorned with oversized gold chains and heels sculpted in the shape of snakes.

Saint Laurent’s standout shoes

Saint Laurent creative director Anthony Vaccarello and Corrado de Biase, the brand's freelance design director for men’s and women’s, created a footwear collection.

One of the most eye-catching details was the sculptural snake-shaped heels. They appeared on several sandal designs.

The collection's gold theme continued with gold-tone metal chains featured on several pairs of sandals. The chains wrapped around the toes and ended in a large decorative centerpiece.

The snake motif also appeared in the textures. Some designs were made from material embossed to resemble snakeskin in beige and blue shades. On other sandals, gold chains were paired with subtle reptile-skin embossing.

Another standout was a pair of slingback shoes with gold-colored toes. The collection also featured styles with elongated pointed toes and high heels.

How Saint Laurent dedicated the collection to gold

Saint Laurent's Spring-Summer 2027 women’s show took place on September 29 at the Trocadéro in Paris. Anthony Vaccarello built the collection around a single color: gold.

The designer reimagined some of the fashion house’s signature pieces in various shades of gold, including safari jackets, trench coats, blouses, wrap skirts, coats with pronounced shoulders, and suits with fur details.

Gold appeared in a wide range of variations, from deep and pale shades to Byzantine, Renaissance, matte, and Art Deco-inspired tones.

Gold accessories were also an important part of the show. In addition to the footwear, the collection featured oversized earrings with intricate jeweled filigree details.

Gold holds a special place in Saint Laurent's history. The fashion house’s founder once said he loved the color and called it 'magical,' comparing it to sunlight.

Vaccarello ended the show with a striking contrast. After a parade of gold looks, the collection closed with three voluminous black evening gowns.
