Ukraine already has prototypes of "smart" autonomous drones. This is the future of warfare, stated the head of the Presidential Office, Kyrylo Budanov, in an interview with The Times.

He said Ukraine is evolving from a recipient of Western military aid into an exporter of battlefield expertise and drone technology that Kyiv is ready to share with its partners.

"We are developing much faster because we are in a state of war. In any military field, as well as in the field of infrastructure protection and systemic changes in the functioning of the state during wartime, we can share this knowledge," Budanov explained.

He added that it is inevitable that wars in the near future will be fought using "smart" autonomous drones, prototypes of which Ukraine already possesses.

Budanov previously stated that the future of Ukraine’s defense industry depends on maintaining a technological edge.

According to him, manufacturers must already focus on integrating artificial intelligence and developing their own control systems, as this will allow Ukraine to preserve its leadership in unmanned technologies.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov recently explained how modern drone technologies are already changing the rules of warfare on the battlefield.

Last winter alone, Ukrainian drone operators forced more than 100 Russian soldiers to surrender using unmanned systems.

Another successful operation was reported in the Kharkiv region, where drone operators from the Pomsta border brigade remotely captured a Russian soldier.
