A single-engine plane crashed into a building in California on Thursday. The accident resulted in deaths and many injuries, reports ABC News.

Southern California police reported that the crash occurred in Fullerton, California, near the municipal airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration identified the aircraft as a single-engine Van's RV-10 and confirmed that the crash occurred around 2:15 PM local time. FlightAware said the plane fell just minutes after departing from Fullerton Airport.

Police stated that two people were killed and 18 others injured when the plane struck an industrial building. The injuries ranged from minor to severe. Ten of the injured were transported to the hospital, while others received treatment on-site and were released.

As a reminder, a passenger plane crashed in South Korea on December 29, just days before the New Year. The landing gear failed to deploy, causing the plane to skid off the runway and crash into a fence. The incident resulted in an explosion, with only two survivors out of 181 people on board.
