Russian forces have unleashed a mine terror in Kahovka, massively dropping "petals" from drones into residential areas and blocking all routes for civilians, according to journalist Oleh Baturin and his Facebook post.

According to Baturin, local residents report that due to the mine terror, some streets in Kahovka, temporarily occupied in the Kherson region, have effectively become too dangerous for any movement.
"In Kahovka, locals say, the Russian occupiers and local collaborators have been in some kind of crazy panic the past few days. The orcs are blocking roads and dropping ‘petal mines’ from drones in the Kahovka district and nearby settlements by the former reservoir," the journalist wrote.
As a result, the occupiers’ actions have severely restricted civilians’ access to hospitals, pharmacies, and grocery stores. Additionally, with roads blocked, people are forced to take detours, increasing the risk of being shelled or encountering abandoned mines.
"Therefore, as always, civilians should avoid checkpoints and areas where forces gather… They should always be treated as deadly. This can increase chances of survival," Baturin added.
Ukrainian human rights defenders are urging civilians to remain extremely cautious, follow air-raid alerts, and avoid contact with occupiers.
They emphasize that the mass deployment of mines and the blocking of roads constitute a serious violation of international humanitarian law and could be classified as a war crime.
Russian strikes on Kherson and region
Russian forces continue daily attacks on Kherson and surrounding communities, using various types of drones. On February 12, a Russian attack in the Kherson community killed one person and injured three others.
On the morning of February 13, Kherson experienced a blackout. Until electricity was restored, water was supplied to homes via generators.
Additionally, late on February 7, Russian forces attacked the civilian population in Kherson. The Korabelny district of the city came under heavy fire from multiple rocket launch systems (MRLS).
