In Czechia, the contribution of employed Ukrainian refugees to the country's economy has been assessed. This year, they will pay 12-15 billion Czech crowns in taxes and fees.

In the country, there are already 113,000 people with temporary protection who are employed, according to proukrainu.blesk.cz.

The Czech government has made further changes to the Lex Ukrajina legislation package. These changes must be considered by parliament, the Senate, and signed by the president. The Ministry of Labor is preparing for the next, seventh phase of changes.

"Since the beginning of July, when we strengthened the rules for social assistance, the number of employed refugees has been increasing - it's over 9,000 people in the Czech labor market," said Labor Minister Marian Jurečka.

The government official notes that, based on average estimates, the state budget will receive approximately 12-15 billion Czech crowns (around half a billion euros).

"We need to look at this through the lens of the very significant contribution of Ukrainian workers-refugees to the entire Czech society," the official stated.

According to him, Ukrainians work in sectors such as services, healthcare, and social assistance.

At the same time, the Ministry of Labor plans to review social assistance. The department will assess the results of the reduction in support since July and changes in family incomes. According to the minister, adjustments to the assistance rules will be moderate.

According to data from the country's Ministry of the Interior, as of September 10, there were 367,700 Ukrainian refugees with temporary protection visas in Czechia.
