Should you skip dinner while trying to lose weight? Coach answers
Can you eat in the evening if you want to lose weight? And what exactly should you consume to avoid gaining weight while staying healthy? A well-known Ukrainian coach and nutritionist Viktor Mandziak has provided a clear answer to this question.
So, according to the expert, when it comes to weight loss or losing excess fat, the only thing that matters is the amount of calories a person consumes.
"The amount of fat in the body will only decrease when fewer calories enter the body than the body burns. This is the first law of thermodynamics," Viktor said.
Energy cannot disappear in the body or come from nowhere, and people need to base their understanding on this fact.
"It does not matter when you consume your calories - in the morning, at lunch, or in the evening. It also doesn't matter which meal has more or fewer calories," the coach stated.
Viktor noted that people think logically but sometimes rely on incorrect information. He also pointed out that 75% of the calories are burned at rest, meaning not when we are moving. Physical activity accounts for 20-25% of calorie expenditure.
"When we go to sleep, the body rests, but the brain is still active. It controls the entire body and burns 20% of the calories," Mandziak concluded.
Previously, Viktor mentioned 6 ways to reduce caloric intake and lose weight effortlessly.
