A shooting occurred near a refugee camp in France, resulting in five fatalities, including two security agents, informs BFMTV.

As reported by the outlet, five people were shot dead on Saturday, December 14, in Lun-Plage and Wormhout near Dunkirk in northern France.

"After the incident, the suspect approached the gendarmerie himself, was arrested, and placed in custody," journalists write.

Four people were shot between 4:00 PM and 4:30 PM. According to the mayor of the city, Eric Rommel, the victims include two security agents and two migrants, who were killed in two separate locations.

He stated that the two agents were targeted while patrolling the port area. Additionally, two migrants were killed between Lun-Plage and Dunkirk.

The suspect, upon contacting the police, confessed to a fifth murder in Wormhout.

"Rescuers were called at 3:15 PM in connection with this fifth killing. It involved a 29-year-old man found 'lifeless on the public road, lying with a bullet wound.' He died on the spot," BFMTV adds.

As previously reported, an elderly man opened fire on mosque-goers in southern France, injuring two people.

Furthermore, in another incident in France, six people were injured in a shooting at a bar. A man approached the bar on a motorcycle, opened fire, and then fled the scene.
