Shelling of Kharkiv: Ukrainian Intelligence responds to cynical statements of RF
The Ministry of Defense of Russia essentially publicly admitted to committing war crimes when commenting on the mass shelling of Kharkiv, according to the representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, Andrii Yusov.
He emphasized that the Russians targeted exclusively civilian objects in Kharkiv, and no representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence suffered as a result of the attacks.
"These statements by official representatives of the aggressor state are essentially a public admission of Russia committing yet another war crime, as during the recent strikes on Kharkiv, the enemy deliberately aimed exclusively at civilian objects and civilian infrastructure, with no military targets affected, and no Main Directorate of Intelligence personnel harmed," emphasized Yusov.
The representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence added that other statements by the Russians are lies and hostile propaganda, and the criminals will be held accountable.
What preceded this
On the evening of December 30, Russians shelled the center of Kharkiv, damaging the Kharkiv Palace hotel and a residential building.
During the night, Russians attacked Kharkiv with Shahed drones. There were hits in the city center. The police specified that 28 people were affected as a result of two waves of shelling in Kharkiv. Among them were two children aged 14 and 16, as well as a foreigner.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation concocted a cynical justification for the massive shelling of Kharkiv. The Russians claimed that they were retaliating for the shelling of Belgorod. Additionally, the occupiers asserted that representatives of the Main Directorate of Intelligence and the Armed Forces of Ukraine were allegedly eliminated in the Kharkiv Palace hotel.
