Shelling of Kharkiv: Russia uses FAB-500 bombs against city for first time
Today, on June 27, Russian forces conducted an airstrike on Kharkiv. For the first time, the enemy used FAB-500 (high-explosive aerial bomb) against the city, according to the Telegram channel of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
As noted by the prosecutor's office, the strike occurred in the Kyivskyi district of the city.
It has been determined that the strikes were carried out from the locality of Mayskiy in the Belgorod region, Russia.
As a result of the shelling, the following damage occurred:
- Three private houses;
- A building of a higher educational institution;
- A building of the State Emergency Service (SES).
As of now, it is known that four people were injured.

According to Oleksandr Filchakov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, in a comment to Suspilne, the FAB-500 was equipped with a planning and correction module. In particular, this bomb is twice as powerful as KAB (guided aviation bomb) and FAB-250, which the enemy had previously used during shelling in Kharkiv.
He specifically noted that the enemy launched two bombs from a Su-34 aircraft. The distance from the launch site to the impact site was 65 kilometers.

Today, around 4:00 PM, the enemy attacked Kharkiv, resulting in damage to a private house and the windows of two buildings of a higher educational institution, according to Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
As mentioned earlier, currently, there are reports of four casualties:
- A man who sustained explosive injuries with damage to his lower limbs.
- Three individuals suffered acute stress reactions.
