Shahed drones debris damage power lines in Cherkasy region
At night of December 16, Russian Shahed drones attacked the Cherkasy region. A total of 14 enemy drones were shot down, Ihor Taburets, Head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, reports.
According to Taburets, the night in the region was relatively calm. However, in the morning, Russian forces launched another aerial attack.
The Head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration noted that 14 enemy drones were destroyed by air defense forces. Fortunately, there were no casualties. However, the debris from the Russian UAVs damaged power lines. Repair crews are already working to fix the damage.
Earlier, near the city of Cherkasy, explosions sounded in the early morning hours of December 16 amid the work of air defense systems responding to the enemy attack using Shahed drones.
Night Shaheds attack
On the evening of December 15, an air raid alert was declared in several regions of Ukraine due to the threat of an attack by Russian Shahed drones. According to reports, the enemy drones entered the country's airspace from the northern direction.
After midnight, the air raid alert was lifted, but the Shaheds began maneuvering over various regions again. Several groups of these drones were observed flying over eight Ukrainian regions.
