Shahed drones attack from seven directions, hits reported: How air defense responded

On the night of March 22, Russia launched a new aerial attack on Ukraine, sending 139 drones from seven directions. Most targets were neutralized, but some strikes were recorded, according to the Ukrainian Air Force Telegram channel.
The attack reportedly began at 6:00 p.m. on March 21. The enemy used Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas drones, as well as other types. About 80 of them were Shaheds.
Launches came from seven directions: Orel, Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Hvardiiske (temporarily occupied Crimea).
The air assault was repelled by the Ukrainian Air Force, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, drone systems, and mobile fire teams of the defense forces.
According to preliminary data as of 8:30 a.m., air defenses shot down or suppressed 127 enemy drones in northern, southern, and eastern Ukraine.
At the same time, eight strike drones hit seven locations, and debris from downed drones fell in another seven places.
"The attack continues; enemy drones remain in the airspace. Follow safety rules!" the Air Force warned.
Shelling of Ukraine
Earlier last night, Russian forces attacked Kyiv region with strike drones, most heavily in Brovary district.
Buildings on the territory of three enterprises were damaged. One of them caught fire. Facades and roofs of two private homes were also damaged, along with two cars and a truck.
In Dnipropetrovsk region, air defenders shot down 11 enemy drones overnight.
In addition, Ukrzaliznytsia reported a tragic incident caused by the Russian attack. During an evacuation on the Odesa railway, a train attendant was killed, and a passenger was seriously injured.
