Shahed drone strike in Odesa: Fire and casualties reported
In Odesa, as a result of an enemy attack using kamikaze drones of the Shahed type, a fire broke out at a civilian infrastructure site. Additionally, there are reports of injured civilians, informs the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper.
"Due to a Russian attack using combat drones in Odesa, a fire erupted at a civilian infrastructure facility. There is information about people injured," stated the official.
The head of the administration added that the data and the number of casualties are currently being clarified.
"All relevant services are working at the scene," informed the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.
Aerial strikes on Odesa
Earlier in the evening on February 22, an air raid alert was declared in central and southern regions of Ukraine due to the threat of Kh-22 missile strikes from Russian Tu-22m3 aircraft. Later, it became known that enemy aircraft had launched missiles towards Odesa. Around 23:00, an explosion was reported in Odesa.
The Ukrainian Air Force also warned of the detection of Russian kamikaze drones of the Shahed type, particularly declaring danger for the Odesa region.
