Several hundred Ukrainian soldiers may be operating on left bank of Kherson region - ISW
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have deployed armored vehicles to the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region, with the potential presence of several hundred Ukrainian servicemen, according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Russian military bloggers on November 6 shared photos that purportedly showed a Ukrainian amphibious armored personnel carrier (APC) transporting infantry fighting vehicles (IFV) to the eastern bank near Krynky (30 kilometers northeast of Kherson and 2 kilometers from the Dnipro Rver).
Other military bloggers on November 7 claimed that a Ukrainian IFV independently crossed the Dnipro River near Krynky and circulated individual images supposedly showing a destroyed Western armored personnel carrier in an undisclosed location on the eastern bank.
Some Russian military bloggers stated that one or two Ukrainian APCs crossed the Dnipro River near Krynyk, while others asserted that Ukrainian forces relocated several unspecified armored vehicles to this area.
They also claimed that over 300 Ukrainian servicemen (approximately one battalion) are operating on the eastern bank near Krynky and continue to hold positions in the center of Krynky and its surrounding areas.
One military blogger reported that several hundred Ukrainian military personnel are active on the eastern bank of the Kherson region. Russian military bloggers allege that combat operations occurred near Krynky, as well as in the areas near Poima, Pishchanivka, and Pidstepne. However, they did not specify that Ukrainian attempts to advance on November 6 and 7 were more significant than in previous days.
Analysts note that the presence of a Ukrainian battalion-sized force on the eastern bank suggests that Russia's intensive efforts to block along the Dnipro River have not deterred Ukrainian forces from deploying additional personnel and equipment to positions on the eastern bank.
Situation on the left bank of the Kherson region
The Institute for the Study of War reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are maintaining their positions and expanding their presence on the left bank of the Kherson region, and pushing back the occupiers from the temporarily occupied left bank and striking at the rear of the occupiers.
Prior to this, ISW mentioned that Ukrainian soldiers were holding certain positions in Krynky and conducting limited attacks on the left bank of the Dnipro River. It is likely that a Ukrainian special forces group landed near Pidstepne and gained control of a section of the road between three settlements.
British intelligence reported that the decisive factor in the battles for the left bank of the Kherson region is the military's ability to make intensive use of artillery.
