Currently, society must unite to support the Defense Forces. In addition to the resilience of Ukrainian soldiers, engineering and fortification structures play an extremely important role, according to a statement from the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

"The construction of engineering and fortification structures was divided into three stages. We are currently working on the final stage. Within this framework, the Armed Forces are completing the tasks set, while the State Special Transport Service (DSST) needs to accelerate its work," explained Syrskyi.

The Commander-in-Chief noted that 21 regional military administrations and contracting organizations are involved in the construction of military engineering and fortification structures.

"Seven regions must intensify their work on fortifications," he emphasized.

At the same time, Syrskyi stressed the need for regional military administrations to take more active steps in building fortifications, especially in terms of their deep echeloning.

"This is our joint area of work, and it requires maximum consolidation of efforts — both to deter enemy advances and to protect Ukrainian land, and above all, to preserve the lives of every Ukrainian soldier," he said.

Recently, Colonel Volodymyr Husar, Deputy Head of the Engineering Forces Directorate of the Armed Forces Support Command, stated that there are currently no issues regarding the construction of fortification structures in Ukraine.

He emphasized that military units are fully equipped with everything needed for this task.

In May, the Ministry of Defense reported the completion of fortification construction works in five regions: Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Kherson, and Kharkiv.
