Series of earthquakes shake Istanbul, caught live on air

During a live CNN broadcast, an earthquake struck Istanbul. A series of tremors was caught on camera, AP News reports.
Today, April 23, Istanbul experienced a 6.2-magnitude earthquake.
During the live CNN broadcast, the channel captured the moment when anchor Meltem Bozbeyoğlu, who was interviewing a guest, remained composed and attempted to calmly continue the program as the studio began to shake violently. She showed no sign of what was happening.
According to the US Geological Survey, the tremors occurred at a depth of 10 km, with the epicenter located 40 km southwest of Istanbul in the Sea of Marmara.
Although the earthquake was felt in several neighboring regions, there have been no reports of casualties or structural damage at this time.

It was determined that the earthquake, felt in the surrounding provinces as well as in Istanbul, occurred at a depth of 6.92 kilometers.
On February 6, 2023, southern and central parts of Türkiye were struck by catastrophic earthquakes, with the average magnitude of tremors reaching 7.8. Around 50,000 people lost their lives as a result of the natural disaster.
Earlier, the Turkish police arrested 188 individuals responsible for buildings that collapsed during the earthquakes.
In addition, Turkish police have launched an investigation into 612 individuals connected to buildings that collapsed during the earthquakes.
