Security Service of Ukraine conducts raids amid Russia's dirty bomb claims
The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) conducts raids to check radiation safety due to Russian provocations regarding the use of a dirty bomb, according to the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine.
Large-scale raids to assess radiation safety were conducted across the entire territory of Ukraine. The measures were prompted by regular threats from terrorists regarding the use of a dirty bomb.
It is noted that as a result of the checks on dangerous radioactive materials, none were found.
"Within just a week, law enforcement officers inspected hundreds of public places, critical infrastructure objects, and thousands of vehicles that Russian saboteurs could potentially use for transporting radioactive materials," the SSU adds.
The SSU has placed special emphasis on monitoring checkpoints in the frontline and occupied areas, border crossings, and more. Additionally, joint action algorithms and mechanisms for responding to nuclear threats from terrorist Russia were worked out during the raids.
Shoigu's dirty bomb
In October 2022, the Minister of Defense of terrorist Russia, Sergei Shoigu, held talks with colleagues from China and India, where he claimed that Ukraine was allegedly preparing provocations involving a dirty bomb.
Following Shoigu, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin later echoed concerns about a dirty bomb. He stated that Ukraine had supposedly turned into a biological experimentation ground and was now being filled with weapons.
Propaganda by terrorists repeatedly mentioned the idea of radiological weapons, particularly after reports of uranium shells being provided to our soldiers.
