In the fight against Russian occupiers, a 26-year-old volunteer from Scotland, Jordan Maclachlan, was killed. He was serving in the Ukrainian army since 2022, BBC reports.

Jordan Maclachlan was from Ardnamurchan, Scotland. According to his relatives, the fighter died on Friday, January 5, while serving on the front lines.

In their statement, his relatives noted that Jordan always believed that he was making a difference and that they were all proud of him for helping others.

BBC reports that several Scots have joined the Ukrainian army since the beginning of the full-scale war. One of them is mechanic Adam Ennis from Biggar, South Lanarkshire, who left his garage business to join the International Legion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Also, in December 2022, the volunteer Jonathan Shenkyn from Glasgow was killed at war in Ukraine, fighting with Russian forces.

Earlier, at the end of November, 24-year-old Georgian volunteer Levan Lokhishvili was killed on the battlefield in Ukraine. In the same month, the sources informed about the death of 22-year-old British volunteer Callum Tindal-Draper, who was a fighter in the International Legion.
