Scholz warns against overestimating Russia's strength in war in Ukraine
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has warned against overestimating Russia's strength, according to Bild.
"Russia is not as strong as people think," he said in a government statement in the Bundestag.
According to him, from a military perspective, Russia's war in Ukraine is "brutal."
But he emphasized that inside the country, the repressive Russian system shows signs of weakness, making it even more important for the EU to unite and steadfastly support Ukraine against Russia.
"If the Russian president believes that simply waiting out this war is enough, and that we will weaken our support, then he is mistaken," the Chancellor said.
Pseudo-elections in Russia
From March 15 to 17, presidential "elections" took place in Russia. However, the Kremlin had already claimed before the voting began that dictator Vladimir Putin would be re-elected with a result of 90%.
In addition, the illegal "voting" took place in the occupied territories of Ukraine. As reported by the Ukrainian intelligence service, Ukrainians were pressured and intimidated into voting for the dictator.
As expected, the Russian Central Election Commission announced that it had almost finished processing the results of the "elections" and claimed almost record voter turnout for Putin.
