Scholz says it's time to discuss ending war in Ukraine
Germany will try to do everything to support Ukraine. Now is the time to discuss how to achieve peace as soon as possible, states German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
According to Scholz, the German government will fulfill all the tasks that are currently at stake. The chancellor said he would do everything to support Ukraine, but some citizens do not agree that Germany supports Ukraine.
“I believe that now is the moment when we also need to discuss how we can get out of this situation of war and achieve peace faster than it seems now,” he said.
Scholz also said he favors Russia's participation in the second peace summit.
President Zelensky's “peace formula”
A peace summit on the implementation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's peace formula was held in Switzerland. The summit was attended by representatives of about 100 countries and international organizations, who later signed a joint communiqué.
Ukraine is currently preparing for the second peace summit, which may take place in Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy supported the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) that it was impossible to have a dialogue with Putin.
