Scholz's fellow party member beaten in Dresden: Attacker identified
A 17-year-old teenager confessed to the attack on Matthias Ecke, a candidate for the European Parliament and a fellow party member of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. He came to the police station in Dresden with his mother, reports Bild.
According to Bild, the teenager came to the police station with his mother on Sunday night, two days after the attack on Ecke. He confessed to involvement in the attack on the politician, but without giving any details.
It was decided not to arrest the teenager, as he confessed to the crime himself and also had a permanent place of residence. Now he is going to be interrogated at the Center for Countering Terrorism and Extremism.
