German Chancellor Olaf Scholz sharply criticized Elon Musk due to the billionaire's support for right-wing parties in the European Union, reports Reuters.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated in a conversation with the media in Berlin that Elon Musk interferes in favor of right-wing politicians across Europe.

He further emphasized, "And this is really disgusting and it is not good for the democratic development in all the European Union."

The world's richest man, closely associated with former US President Donald Trump, has repeatedly criticized Chancellor Scholz and his government, calling for him to resign. Musk also claimed that the far-right party Alternative for Germany (AfD) was supposedly the only savior for Germany.

Recently, the American billionaire appeared via video call at an AfD campaign event, where he stated that Germans should not be guilty of their parents' sins and should be proud of their culture.

"I am absolutely critical about what Elon Musk said about the history of Germany," said Chancellor Scholz.

He also added that Germany will continue to take responsibility for what the Germans did in the past, referring to the years of World War II.

Scholz pointed out that this week the world remembers the liberation of the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz.

"This killing of so many Jews and other people in Europe done by Germans in the past, this is a historic responsibility," he stressed.

At the same time, Scholz added that Germany is grateful to the US for the help provided by American soldiers in liberating the country from the Nazis and for helping it become a democracy again.

"And this is why I am so angry about Elon Musk intervening for the far-right," the German chancellor explained.

On January 26, the head of the Holocaust Memorial accused Musk of insulting the victims of Nazism due to his participation in the ultra-right-wing party AfD congress and his statements at the event.

Additionally, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk expressed concerns about the ideas that were voiced at the AfD rally, where Musk spoke.

Yesterday, it became known that French Prime Minister François Bayrou also criticized Elon Musk's recent attacks on the official Paris and the country of Europe. According to the head of the French government, the American billionaire poses a threat to democracies.
