Scenario for 2024 and changes in mobilization: Zelenskyy holds Staff meeting
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy chaired another meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. Among the topics discussed were the scenarios for 2024 and changes in mobilization, according to an evening address of the state head.
"Just held a Staff meeting. Frontline commanders and the chief commander reported on the situation at the front lines, in all the main directions. East - Kupiansk, Lyman, Maryinka, Avdiivka. Zaporizhzhia. The south and, in particular, our actions in the Kherson region," Zelenskyy said.
He adds that he had listened to reports on the supply of ammunition and weapons.
"We are preparing updated requests for communication with partners. Ahead is a significant week, especially in terms of such communication," the President stated.
Zelenskyy informs that at the Staff meeting, there was a report by the head of Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service regarding possible Russian actions and the international situation next year.
"We are analyzing all possible scenarios, and there must be our Ukrainian scenario for the year '24. Specific operations with entirely specific justifications that will give Ukraine entirely specific results. Everything necessary for our state, our brigades, should be calculated under this specificity," he emphasized.
Additionally, the meeting discussed matters regarding mobilization.
"Everyone in Ukraine understands that changes are needed in this sphere. And this issue is not just about the number of those who can be mobilized. It is about terms - both for those currently in the military, for demobilization, and for those who will join the military. And this is about conditions. These are comprehensive things that the military leadership and the Ministry of Defense must work on and present at the Staff meeting for approval. Today there were some proposals - I am waiting for comprehensive decisions," the President added.
Mobilization in Ukraine
Recently, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a Staff meeting, during which one of the main topics of discussion was mobilization.
Following this, the head of state revealed that he instructed Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valerii Zaluzhnyi to draw up a comprehensive plan for mobilization in Ukraine.
