Satellite images of the Albashneft oil depot in Russia's Krasnodar region have been shared online. The so-called mini-oil refinery was attacked during the night of February 5, Radio Svoboda reports.
Satellite images confirm that two fuel storage tanks were damaged as a result of the attack.
It was previously reported that one of the tanks contained 60 tons of oil, while the other held an equal amount of diesel. However, the second tank was allegedly only superficially damaged and did not catch fire.
Attack on the mini-refinery in Kuban
RBC-Ukraine reported that on the night of February 5, Russians complained about a drone attack in Krasnodar Krai. Online sources mentioned a strike and fire at the oil depot located near the Kaniv district.
Later, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the strike on the Albashneft mini-refinery in Krasnodar Krai, Russia. A fire broke out at the facility after a successful hit.
The refinery is involved in supplying gasoline and diesel to Russian occupying forces.
There were also speculations online that the refinery was attacked not by a drone, but by a new Ukrainian cruise missile. However, there is no confirmation of this.
