Satellite images reveal aftermath of strike on Wildberries warehouse in Russia's Voronezh

Around 70,000 square meters of the Russian Wildberries marketplace warehouse in Voronezh were destroyed by fire following a drone attack, according to the Russian service of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.
Satellite images captured the extensive damage caused by the strike on August 11. The fire that broke out after the drone impact engulfed a significant part of the logistics complex.
Despite the large area affected by the fire, the company’s press service said that "most of the goods were not damaged."
The logistics center in Voronezh has previously been targeted in attacks. In particular, the warehouse was hit on July 23, although the damage was minor at the time.

Earlier, on the night of August 11, the Wildberries logistics complex caught fire in the Novousmansky District of Russia’s Voronezh region. Local residents reported explosions, while the company confirmed that employees had been evacuated.
An attack on a Wildberries warehouse in Yekaterinburg was also reported earlier. The facility is located more than 1,700 km from the border with Ukraine.
The consequences of the attacks are already affecting the marketplace’s operations and Russia’s economy. The cost of restoring Wildberries facilities could amount to a quarter of Russia’s annual budget deficit.
At the same time, the marketplace’s turnover has already fallen by around a quarter due to an exodus of sellers.
Reuters previously reported that Russian authorities lack sufficient funds to support sellers affected by attacks on Wildberries warehouses.
The marketplace controls around half of Russia’s e-commerce market, meaning its problems could have a significant impact on the country’s economy.
