Satellite images confirmed the attack on the Special Forces University of Chechnya's head, Ramzan Kadyrov, on October 29. The footage shows smoke rising from the site, according to Radio Svoboda.

Radio Svoboda released a satellite image showing smoke rising from the roof of the university, captured at 10:10 AM local time.

On the evening of October 29, Chechnya's head, Ramzan Kadyrov, stated on Telegram that, allegedly, Ukrainian prisoners who were supposedly held in the Russian Special Forces University building died as a result of the strike. Currently, there is no confirmation of these claims.

What is known about the educational institution

The Russian Special Forces University was founded in Gudermes (Chechnya) in 2013 and has been named after Kremlin head Vladimir Putin since 2024.

According to Chechen authorities, thousands of individuals have trained there since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, many of whom subsequently went on to fight in the war in Ukraine.

Attack on Kadyrov's Special Forces University

A drone attacked the Russian Special Forces University in Chechnya on October 29, igniting a fire. According to Russian Telegram channels, after the attack, which occurred at 6:30 AM local time, the roof of the allegedly empty building on the university's premises caught fire.

Later, the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) at the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) stated that the drone strike on the educational institution would be a significant event for Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov.
