Russians start attaching nails to drones in case of air battles: Details
Russians have started attaching nails to drones to gain an advantage in the event of an air battle with another drone, citing Defense Express.
Although "air battles" between drones are not a common occurrence, they likely happen more frequently than one might imagine. To address this, the enemy has devised a new method to gain an advantage in combat with other drones.
"We detected the drone, then attached nails to our drone and landed it on the enemy. After that, the blades would hit the nails, causing them to break, and the drone would fall down," explained one of the Russian instructors at a frontline school for reconnaissance drones and strike FPV drones.
However, it can be inferred that these are not random incidents but rather deliberate "hunting" of other drones.
Meanwhile, it is also suggested that the method of attaching nails may ultimately be an initiative of specific units.
"Certainly, factors such as luck and the skill of the drone operator remain important for shooting down a drone in the air. However, despite the idea of a drone with nails seeming like another fantasy of "local tinkerers," it can be assumed that it might be one of the options for combating drones in the air," writes Defense Express.
RBC-Ukraine recently reported that the Defense Forces shot down a Russian drone in an air battle at an altitude of over 3600 meters.
