Russians shelling Kharkiv region in the afternoon of August 16
Russians began shelling the Kharkiv region today, August 16. Currently, an air raid alarm has been declared there, according to the Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov.
"The occupants are striking the region, stay in shelters," he noted.
According to him, anti-air defense systems are currently working in the region.
Before the military administration, the Air Force of Ukraine had warned about fast-moving targets in the direction of Kharkiv.
At the same time, local Telegram channels reported explosions in the region.

As Syniehubov clarified, the occupiers hit the settlements of the Kharkiv, Kupiansk, and Chuhuiv districts. There is no information about the victims.
As a result of the attacks, fires started on the territory of private and country houses.

Over recent weeks, Russian occupants have intensified shelling of Ukrainian territory. They use kamikaze drones as well as ballistic, cruise, and hypersonic missiles.
The latest attack occurred today, August 16, during the night. The enemy attempted to strike Ukraine using Shahed kamikaze drones. Ukraine's defenders managed to shoot down 13 UAVs over the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions.
The attacks caused damage to the Reni port in the Odesa region. A fire broke out there.
