On August 12, Russian occupiers launched an early morning attack on the town of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi in the Kupiansk district of the Kharkiv region. Unfortunately, a woman was killed as a result of the attack, reported Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

"At about 5:10 AM today, the enemy shelled the town of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi in the Kupiansk district. A residential building was damaged, and a 73-year-old woman lost her life. Emergency services are currently on-site," wrote Syniehubov.

The Situation in Kharkiv region

The Russians consistently target populated areas in the Kharkiv region situated near the frontlines and the border of the Russian Federation.

In just the past 24 hours, they launched artillery and mortar strikes, along with attacks using other weaponry on populated areas in the areas near Bohodukhiv, Kharkiv, Chuhuiv, Izium, and Kupiansk.

"In particular, Kupiansk, Petropavlivka, Veterenarne, Strilecha, Hatyshche, Vovchanski Khutory, Shyikivka, Cherneshchyna, and other towns came under fire. Residential buildings and structures suffered damage," wrote Syniehubov.

Meanwhile, demining efforts in the region. 89 explosive devices have been successfully neutralized recently.
