Russians lost at least five armored vehicles and tanks in Pokrovsk area - ISW
Russian forces have lost at least five divisions of armored vehicles and tanks in the Pokrovsk area since the beginning of their offensive operation to capture Avdiivka in October 2023 and during the intensification of offensive operations in the western Donetsk region in the summer of 2024, according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Russian forces have lost more than 1,830 pieces of heavy equipment in the Pokrovsk district of the Donetsk region since the offensive on Avdiivka began in October 2023.
Since October 2023, Russia has lost 539 tanks and 1,020 infantry fighting vehicles in the course of active combat operations.
Losses have been particularly heavy in the summer of 2024 when Russian forces continued their offensive west of Avdiivka and in other areas of the Donetsk region.
Ukrainian forces have destroyed 381 tanks and 835 infantry fighting vehicles. In addition, Russia has lost 26 infantry fighting vehicles, 22 multiple launch rocket systems, 11 artillery systems, and 92 unarmored trucks.
Analysts say that these figures could be understated, as not all losses of Russian equipment have been visually confirmed. The actual numbers are likely higher.
