Russians launch over 30 Shahed drones over Ukraine: General Staff reports downed UAVs
Russian forces launched 31 Shahed kamikaze drones over Ukrainian territory last night. Ukrainian air defense successfully shot down 30 enemy targets, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"During the night, Russian occupiers once again attacked Ukraine, employing 31 UAVs of the Shahed-136/131 type. Forces and means of air defense successfully neutralized 30 of these unmanned aerial vehicles," reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Night attack on December 16
Late in the evening on December 15, Russian forces launched several groups of attack drones towards the Ukrainian territory from the northern and southern directions.
Explosions were audible in Kyiv and the surrounding region. The Kyiv Military Administration and the Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported the activation of air defense forces both in the capital and the region.
Additionally, the Ukrainian Air Force cautioned about the launch of a ballistic target by Kyiv, but after verification, it turned out to be a false alarm.
