On the night of December 29, Russian troops launched six S-300/S-400 missiles and 10 drones at Ukraine. Air defense shot down almost all Russian drones, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“On the night of December 29, the enemy launched six S-300/S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles from the Belgorod region to the Kursk and Sumy regions,” the report says.

They also attacked with 10 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of drones from the temporarily occupied Crimea.

How the air defense responded

As a result of combat work, units of anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare, and mobile fire groups shot down 9 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of drones.

“All of them were in the sky over the Mykolaiv region,” the military added.

Russian attack on Mykolaiv region

In the evening of December 28 and on the night of December 29, Russian troops attacked the Mykolaiv region with kamikaze drones. Ochakiv and the Chornomorsk community were under attack.

The attack caused several fires. A fire broke out at an energy infrastructure facility. It has already been extinguished, but one person was injured.

According to Vitalii Kim, governor of the region, the air defense system shot down 9 drones in the sky over the Mykolaiv region. This is the second night in a row that Russia has attacked Mykolaiv and the region.
