Russians hit infrastructure in Zhytomyr region, threat of air pollution reported
Critical infrastructure has been damaged in the Zvyahelska community of the Zhytomyr region as a result of the Russian drone attack. Local residents have been warned of the threat of air pollution and the transition of schools to online learning, according to Vitalii Bunechko, the head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, and the Zvyahelska City Council.
During the attack, the air defense forces of the region managed to shoot down some of the Shahed drones.
Preliminary information reports no casualties or injuries as a result of the enemy strike.
"There is currently a threat of air pollution, so it is recommended to stay indoors with closed windows," the Zvyahelska City Council reports.
In particular, the Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations has decided to switch to distance learning in general education institutions.
"As for preschool institutionsб for parents who have no one to leave their children with, emergency groups will be operating," the statement said.
Shahed attack on the night of April 8
Russian invaders used 24 Shahed kamikaze drones and a Kh-59 missile for an overnight airstrike on Ukrainу. More than half of the enemy's attack drones and missile were destroyed by air defense forces.
