Russians execute six Ukrainian soldiers in Pokrovsk sector
Russian occupying forces executed six captured Ukrainian soldiers in the Pokrovsk direction. Law enforcement authorities have launched an investigation, according to the Office of the Prosecutor General.
"According to operational data, on October 23, 2024, during an offensive on the city of Selidove, Russian troops captured three Ukrainian fighters. After some time, the occupiers executed the unarmed prisoners of war," the report says.
Additionally, on November 1, during an assault on Ukrainian fortifications in the same Pokrovsk direction, Russian invaders killed three more prisoners of war with automatic weapons.
The Office of the Prosecutor General emphasizes that these actions are violations of the Geneva Conventions and constitute an international crime.
Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk regional prosecutor's office, pre-trial investigations have been initiated regarding the war crimes that led to the deaths of prisoners of war (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war
It was recently reported that Russian troops killed four National Guard servicemen in the Selidove area. Furthermore, earlier in the Selydove area, Russians executed two Ukrainian soldiers.
Law enforcement is also investigating the execution of 16 captured Ukrainian soldiers by Russians in the Pokrovsk direction. This incident has become the largest mass killing of captured Ukrainian soldiers since the beginning of the war.
