Russians complain about more drone attacks: Regions affected
Russian forces claim to have thwarted a drone attack overnight on the eve of March 8, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The Russians allege that eleven drones were destroyed over the Volgograd region, with one taken down over the territory of the Belgorod region. They claim the drones were of Ukrainian origin.
"The Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle was destroyed over the territory of the Belgorod region by means of air defense, and eleven UAVs were destroyed over the territory of the Volgograd region," the report says.
Later, the Ministry of Defense claimed to have shot down an additional four supposedly Ukrainian drones over the Volgograd region around 7:00 AM Moscow time, as reported by Russian media.
Andrey Bocharov, the governor of the Volgograd region, confirmed the attack and stated that all drones were allegedly neutralized by the air defense forces. However, he did not specify the exact number.
"This morning, an attack by UAVs was repelled in the Gorodishchensky district of the Volgograd region. The unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed by the air defense forces. Measures have been taken to ensure the safety of residents. No casualties or damage have been reported," Bocharov wrote.
The governor of the Belgorod region did not comment on the incident.
Drone attacks on Russia
Earlier, it was reported that drones attacked three regions of Russia on March 6, targeting an airfield, warehouse, and oil depot.
Additionally, drones targeted an oil depot in the Belgorod region. The operation was confirmed by the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine.
