Russians attack Ukraine with Shaheds overnight: Air defense downs all drones
The Russian invaders launched kamikaze drones across Ukraine for air strikes last night, on February 19. All enemy drones were destroyed by Ukrainian Air Defense Forces, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The military command notes that the Russians had used four Shahids.
"At night, the Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine using 4 Shahed-136/131 UAVs. Ukrainian Air Defense Forces and means destroyed all enemy UAVs," the statement says.
The Ukrainian Air Force clarified that the four Shaheds that were shot down by Ukrainian air defense were launched by Russians from the Belgorod region in the direction of the Kharkiv region.
Shaheds attack
Earlier in the evening on Sunday, February 18, the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration informed about the launch of attack drones by the Russian occupiers towards Ukraine. The threat of a drone attack was announced, in particular, in the Kharkiv region.
Local networks reported explosions in the region, and there were suggestions that this could be related to air defense operations.
Later, after 11 p.m., the Ukrainian Air Force Command announced that the threat from enemy kamikaze drones had been eliminated.
