Shelling of Izium

Izium is a city in Ukraine, serving as the administrative center of the Izium district in the Kharkiv region. It lies along the Siverskyi Donets River. The city suffered severe damage during Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

In 2022, Izium was occupied by Russian forces but was later liberated by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the autumn of the same year. Since then, the city has faced ongoing attacks.

For instance, on February 4, Russian troops shelled Izium again. Initially, reports mentioned four dead and around 20 wounded. However, the number of casualties continued to rise, later reaching 50 injured and five killed.
