During the strikes, Russians damaged the building of the fire and rescue unit in the Sumy region, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU).

"As a result of another enemy artillery strike on one of the border settlements of the Sumy district, the premises of the local fire and rescue unit were damaged," the SESU writes.

The rescuers were in shelters during the shelling, and no one was injured. The shock wave and shrapnel damaged

  • gates
  • fire units.

Situation in Sumy region

In March, the Russian military intensified the shelling of the Sumy region. As of March 18 alone, up to 100 attacks per day were recorded in the region.

In particular, on March 17, civilian infrastructure in Sumy was damaged as a result of Russian shelling.

Meanwhile, the head of the Sumy City Military Administration, Oleksii Drozdenko, reminded of the rules in the 5-kilometer zone.
