Russian volunteer troops announce strikes on military targets in Belgorod and Kursk
Russian volunteer troops announced strikes on Russian military positions in Belgorod and Kursk. Residents of these cities were urged to evacuate, according to a joint statement by the Freedom of Russia Legion, Russian Volunteer Corps, and Siberian Battalion.
Soldiers of the volunteer formations say that Putin's troops are launching massive attacks on peaceful Ukrainian cities, setting up positions between houses, schools, and government agencies, and civilians are being killed as a result of shelling from the territory of Belgorod.
"The shelling of Ukraine from the territory of Belgorod must stop! In this regard, we are forced to inflict a fire defeat from military positions located in the cities of Belgorod and Kursk," the statement reads.
Russian volunteers called on the residents of Belgorod and Kursk to evacuate to avoid civilian casualties, and on local authorities to evacuate residents of the cities of Kursk and Belgorod regions.
Raids to the Russian Federation
Yesterday, on March 12, the Russian Volunteer Corps, together with two other units, broke through the border with Russia and took control of several settlements, in particular in the Belgorod and Kursk regions.
In addition, Russians have complained of drone attacks for two nights in a row. Russian dictator Vladimir Putin commented on the events in the Belgorod and Kursk regions, accusing Ukraine of being behind them.
The dictator linked the breakthrough of the border by volunteers to alleged failures at the front, as well as plans to disrupt the "expression of the will of citizens" in the so-called presidential elections in Russia.
