A Russian Su-30 fighter jet crashed in the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation. Preliminarily, the aircraft's crew perished, according to "RIA Novosti."

As stated by the Western Military District of the Russian Federation, today on August 12th, in the Kaliningrad region, during a training flight, a Su-30 aircraft crashed. The fighter jet went down in an uninhabited area.

The Russians declare that the entire aircraft crew has perished.

"The flight was carried out without ammunition. According to preliminary information, the cause of the crash was a technical malfunction," as reported by the Russian media.

Note: The Kaliningrad region t is the westernmost region of Russia, surrounded by Poland and Lithuania. Approximately 950,000 people reside in this area.

Incidents with aircraft and helicopters in Russia

In Russia, there have been reports of aviation accidents that occurred earlier. For instance, on May 13th, a helicopter crashed in the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation. Before the crash, it circled for a long time and then crashed into a building. Later, another helicopter crashed in the Bryansk region.

Furthermore, at the beginning of July, a MiG-31 fighter jet crashed in the Kamchatka Krai of the Russian Federation during a training flight.
