Fifteen people were injured in Russia’s overnight attack on Kyiv on October 22, including two 15-year-olds. Eight of the injured are being treated at city hospitals.

Casualties

A total of 15 people were injured in the attack, including two 15-year-old teenagers. Eight people were hospitalized, while the others received medical assistance at the scene.

Damage by district

  • Pecherskyi district — An ambulance station building and six ambulances were damaged. No medical personnel were injured.

  • Sviatoshynskyi district — A restaurant building caught fire following the attack.

Traffic and metro service

The attack damaged the South Bridge, including part of the metro infrastructure on the bridge. As a result, vehicle traffic from the right bank to the left bank of the Dnipro River was restricted.

The Green Line of the metro is operating in two separate sections: Syrets–Vydubychi and Osokorky–Chervony Khutir.

Train intervals may increase. Inspections and repairs will continue after the air raid alert ends.

Russia attacked Kyiv in several waves overnight. Explosions were heard in the capital on the evening of October 21 following a ballistic missile strike. Russian forces subsequently launched missiles at the city several more times.

Defending against ballistic missiles is difficult due to a shortage of Patriot missiles. According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, the United States is currently supplying only 12 of these missiles per month.

The previous large-scale attack on the capital, overnight on October 19, killed one person, while falling debris damaged a metro station.
