Russian forces carried out another attack on the Sumy region on the night of June 6. Energy infrastructure, a gas station, and postal transport were targeted, with casualties reported, according to Sumy Regional Military Administration head Oleh Hryhorov.

According to Hryhorov, as a result of enemy strikes on energy infrastructure, power outages were recorded in some settlements starting in the evening.

Energy workers are currently working to eliminate the consequences and restore electricity supply.

After midnight, an enemy drone struck a gas station in the Trostianets community. A female employee of the gas station was injured and hospitalized; her life is not in danger.

Later, another Russian drone attacked a postal vehicle on a highway in the Sumy district near the Sadivska community. The driver was injured and taken to hospital, where he is receiving medical care.

In addition, five more people were injured earlier during the day as a result of enemy attacks in border communities of the Sumy region.

Attacks on Ukraine

As a reminder, on the night of June 6, Russia attacked Ukraine with 272 strike drones. Air defense forces managed to shoot down most of the UAVs, although some impacts were recorded.

In particular, during another overnight Russian attack on the Odesa region, civilian and critical infrastructure facilities, as well as residential areas, were damaged.

Also this morning, Russians struck Zaporizhzhia. The shelling caused damage, with reports of fatalities and injuries.

On the night of June 5, a Russian UAV attack on the Odesa region damaged the Kernel terminal in the port of Chornomorsk.

In addition, the Yahotynske for Children plant in the Kyiv region was damaged in yesterday’s Russian drone strike — four people were killed and four more were injured.
